“Again: The One Unforgiven Sin”

Scripture:
LUKE 12:10-12
LUKE 12:10-12 (NIV)
“And everyone who speaks a word against the Son of Man will be forgiven, but anyone who blasphemes against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven.”
“When you are brought before synagogues, rulers and authorities, do not worry about how you will defend yourselves or what you will say, for the Holy Spirit will teach you at that time what you should say.”
Life Lessons from Jesus:
Sometimes we’re afraid to speak, even to respond to someone’s questions about God, because we don’t feel we have the knowledge or the understanding to respond appropriately. All of us will find ourselves in situations that feel out of our league or even potentially hostile.
Many people end up afraid to say anything at all, even in defense, because they “don’t know what to say.” Know that you don’t always have to have the right words. Truth is, you won’t always have the right words. But God will. You have a flawless Teacher. If your heart is following His, then the Holy Spirit will speak through you. Jesus said in John 16:13 that the Spirit will guide us into all truth. When you’re feeling in over your head, say a little prayer, focus on God, know that He’s standing with You, and speak with love.

Consider these questions as you reflect on today’s reading:
How do you think the Holy Spirit teaches us what to say?
How are you trusting in the Holy Spirit to guide you on a daily basis?
What are ways we can become more open to the Holy Spirit and listen to the Spirit so He can speak through us?
Prayer:
Holy Spirit, fill my heart with Your teaching and help my mouth to speak Your truth. Thank You for always being with me, working in me and empowering my life. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
