Leg 3 Day 85
“When You Stand Praying, Forgive”
Jesus Through Us
< BACK
Scripture:
MARK 11:25-26
MARK 11:25-26 (NLT) “But when you are praying, first forgive anyone you are holding a grudge against, so that your Father in heaven will forgive your sins, too.” “But if you refuse to forgive, your Father in heaven will not forgive your sins.”
Life Lessons from Jesus:
We can’t move forward in our walk with Christ if we’re holding onto something else. Forgive so that you can be forgiven. Not only that, but be the first to forgive! Don’t wait to show the love and mercy of Jesus. Mark is the shortest Gospel and was written before Matthew, Luke, and John. It is both fast-moving and contains the word “immediately” 41 times. This word is only found 59 times in the entire New Testament. It almost seems as if Mark is so busy telling all that Jesus did, he can hardly catch his breath until he moves on to the next miracle. It also stresses the importance of living out the Christian life now. Life moves quickly and we only have so much time to fulfill our purpose in life and be an example to the people around us. Forgiven people should be the first to extend forgiveness.
The WAY:
Consider these questions as you reflect on today’s reading:
What is your heart’s response to what Jesus said in Mark 11:26?
How can the urgency of Mark’s Gospel help you to let go of issues between you and others and forgive someone now?
Prayer:
Jesus, help me to forgive others immediately. I don’t want bitterness taking root in my heart. Thank You for forgiving all my sins. Please give me the strength to forgive others. In Your name, Amen.
