“God blesses those whose hearts are pure, for they will see God.” From the Greek word for pure, we get our English word “catharsis.” It refers to something that is pure with nothing added to it. In other words, “Blessed are those who don’t have divided or double hearts.” Imagine this question showing up on social media today. “How many people would like to see God today?” Visualize the number of responses that post would accumulate. I don’t know of a Christian who doesn’t want to see God. However, Jesus says that the prerequisite for seeing God is a pure heart. What would happen in our world if Christians sought after pure hearts with the same passion that they say they want to actually see God? Our world would see more grace and mercy to be certain. One leads to the other. Pure hearts lead to a fresh view of God!
